About Contact Improv in Carrboro
Contact improvisation is a partnered movement practice built on shared weight and touch; jams are open floors where anyone can enter or rest. Some experience or an intro class is usually expected before a jam. Carrboro is the Triangle's contra town. The Century Center hosts regular contra dances with live bands and a walk-through for newcomers, and Cat's Cradle band nights often turn into dance nights.
