About Contact Improv in Durham

Contact improvisation is a partnered movement practice built on shared weight and touch; jams are open floors where anyone can enter or rest. Some experience or an intro class is usually expected before a jam. Durham dances most nights of the week. Blues and swing cluster downtown and around Lakewood; Latin socials run midweek in RTP-side studios; contra and English country dancing happen in community halls and meeting houses.
