About Shag in Carrboro
Carolina Shag is the state dance of North Carolina and the Triangle has weekly shag socials with beach music DJs. Carrboro is the Triangle's contra town. The Century Center hosts regular contra dances with live bands and a walk-through for newcomers, and Cat's Cradle band nights often turn into dance nights. Free nights are usually bar or community-hall socials; tip the DJ or band if you can.
